This music is both autobiographical and metaphorical #musicmoney meets music veteran Temporary Hero to hear about his incredible new album QUENCH

Over the course of his ten year career, TEMPORARY HERO has continued to craft a
diverse soundscape without typical genre-restrictive boundaries. The blending of
genres, the beats of contemporary pop and electronic music, and the prowess of an
artist reaching for new levels in every creative endeavor, Temporary Hero is an artist's
artist. Starting out making underground club records like Ballet remixed by legendary
Andre Lodemann, the artist pushed his craft into contemporary dance music territory
after forging his way into the top 20 Billboard club chart with WILDJOY featuring Jason
From there he visited a cross-genre platform focusing on current and futuristic pop
music with first full LP"Sunset People" featuring the MTV hit “Circus.” The pop and
dance circuit is just the tip of the iceberg for this artist, however. He has covered
Sinatra and Bing, Chet Baker and then covered 1/2 of Fleetwood Mac’s polarizing
TUSK album to critical acclaim.
The journey continued with a solid string of albums “you’re about to have your hands
full” which he described as his “Ray of Light” featuring the number one hit I’m So
Insane to the album Goodbye Warhol which explored a more rock/pop sound.
Following those albums the artist released a steady stream of new albums (check out
the single I’m Diggin’ You (Too) for a breath of singer songwriter fresh air).
In 2017 the artist experienced a life changing tragedy and relocated to St. Croix USVI
and turned that pain and change into his most directly personal album INDIGO. The
rebirth trajectory culminated with last year’s WHAT YOU WANTED expanding on those
themes started in INDIGO but dressed in a new organic-electronic sound, his most
diverse and exquisite album to date.
Where are you from?
Originally from Rhode Island, USA, now spend half my time in New England USA and
St. Croix US Virgin Islands
Describe your sound:
The sound of Temporary Hero has evolved from being a dance-oriented act (with some
hints of Moby or Morel) to a singer/songwriter/synthpop amalgam, traversing various
sounds always experimenting, going from an acoustic mash-up of Outkast’s Hey Ya! +
Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off to the heavy Depeche Mode inspired sounds of the latest
single THIRSTY. The key is to be creative, have fun and just strive for expressing myself
in sound and vision. Always!
Tell us about your latest track:
The latest single THIRSTY is from the upcoming album QUENCH (22 February 2019).
You see, I like to think in terms of ALBUMS regardless of the current streaming climate.
It makes sense to me to adopt a theme or a sound and paint a batch of songs that
seem to fit from start to finish, like the old days. If this collection contains 1 or 11 more
standalone songs, then great. And that’s certainly what happened with this QUENCH
About the Album “QUENCH”
As the proper follow-up album to the album What You Wanted which broadened and
sharpened the artist’s lyrics and genre bending sounds, QUENCH takes a bold risk
incorporating more contemporary synth based sounds yet sticks to traditional song
writing structures. And this album really shines.
This music is both autobiographical and metaphorical. As the artist says, “QUENCH is
the album I felt destined to make. It took all these years to get to the point of saying
what I want - not hiding - and also not being ashamed of who I am, what makes me tick,
what makes me angry or scared or what excites me. What quenches my thirst for life.
The album deals with hopes, strength, craving affection, love, breakups. Champion was
written for my son. Slippery deals with the death of my brother from substance abuse
and realizing I need to grab life and go for whatever my heart desires. Do This Now!
imagines a conversation between a black guy and a white guy, presumably friends,
about trying to understand each other and the racism that is so prevalent in society. Fire
In The Water was inspired and written in St. Croix USVI (a return to the sounds of
INDIGO). Finally I included two covers, Suspicions by Eddie Rabbitt and No One Is To
Blame by Howard Jones just because I love the tunes.”

Who inspires you?
The world inspires me. Sometimes it’s a word, many times it’s the socio-political
climate in the USA. As far as other artists I would have to say artists like Charlie Puth,
Shawn Mendes, and Bing Crosby. Bing Crosby you ask??? YES!!! I love Bing!!!
Where do you see your career in 5 years?
Still making music. I am very very prolific. I actually have seven more albums ready to
release and am currently working on the eighth. I have so much material to release,
sometimes I think I am insane!
Where can we check out your sounds?
See links above. The music is on all streaming services worldwide
Tell us something about yourself that the people need to know.
I am just a regular guy who loves art in all its forms. If I couldn’t express myself in
music / photography / art I would explode. And I do all my own cover art, graphic
design and photographs. It’s a DIY lifestyle.
