The South has a new heavyweight on the rise. Straight from Tuscaloosa, AL, Shown 1k is creating a huge buzz for himself across the airwaves and the streets. Boasting a resume of opening for Webbie, Lil Boosie, Travis Porter, UGK & Kevin Gates just to name a few. Shown 1k is already proving himself a contender early in his career. Born and raised in Alabama, Shown 1k considers his biggest musical influences to be artist and labels from Louisiana such as No Limit, Cash Money, & Trill Fam. After a huge positive audience reception during his first performance and ever-increasing YouTube views and downloads, Shown’s passion for music intensified.
“My momma & my daddy from the streets ” Shown 1k states. Although he doesn’t come from a family of musicians, Shown 1k stayed off the streets by using music as his escape. Staying on the right path eventually paid off when Shown heard his single “Settle Down” on Birmingham radio station WBHJ 95.7 Jamz.
Shown 1k says he’s grateful for how much his fan base has grown. “Right Back Trappin”, one of Shown’s previously released single blew up all over Twitter, with nothing but positive reviews from fans across the nation. Shown 1k’s “1000/1k” movement is certainly popping up in every retweet and hashtag featured on his account. While Shown’s two singles were not strictly for the ladies, his most recent mixtape, Stack Or Starve has everything from stories, to club bangers. Stack Or Starve, which features “Right Back Trappin” & “Re-UP” one of his current singles, is currently available on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, & SoundCloud while previous work can be found on Datpiff, Mymixtapez, Livemixtapes, & Spinrilla. He shared his vision for his projects, as well as what the fans can expect: “I really want all my projects to sound less like a mixtape and more like an album. More songs, less freestyles.
